Leaders in post-industrial mid-American cities are facing massive economic shifts and social unrest. At the same time there are significant opportunities to build on generational social capital, strengthen trust across neighborhoods and sectors, lift up innovation and positive stories, and shape a thriving future together. We work with regional leaders (cities, civic bodies, agencies, community foundations, region-wide initiatives) to map the deep layers, connections, and knowledge in their regional ecosystem. Using the CommunityScape platform, together we shape a community learning system that surfaces networks and talent, shares accessible knowledge, and organizes activities across diverse institutions, organizations and community groups for the sake of region-wide problem-solving and thriving. Meaningful collaboration across silos is a key element that will determine if our cities grow back stronger. Strengthening that relational infrastructure is at the heart of the CommunityScape.
