Kongasis is a farming community with no electricity, running water, sanitation system or water treatment plant. The majority of people collect their water from seasonal rivers and rain water. Sixty years ago a small spring was tapped to supply water for 2 families. A small stone block retaining wall was built to hold water. Now that wall leaks badly. Now there are 50 families, their animals and a primary school drawing from this spring. Everyday life is one of hardship. Our goal is to build a larger, covered retention pond and a distribution system.
