I’m CaTyra Polland, CEO and Founder of Love for Words, a published author, editor, copywriter, poet, speaker, and lifelong advocate for the power of words. As an alumna of both the University at Buffalo and the University at Albany, I’ve built my career around helping people strengthen their voices, tell their stories, and bring their ideas to life.
Through Love for Words, I provide professional editing services for creative people while honoring the vision behind their work. I believe editing is about much more than correcting words on a page—it’s about listening, mentoring, encouraging, and helping writers become more confident in what they have to say.
My love for literacy and storytelling extends far beyond editing. I’m the creator and hostess of Editor Knows Best, an international writing and editing podcast for literary professionals. In 2020, I launched Literacy Love, a scholarship supporting high school students. I also founded Writers Paradise, a forum created for writers and authors to connect, learn, and grow, and I founded National Black Authors Day, celebrated annually on May 4 to recognize and uplift Black literary voices.
Here on DEEPDIIG, I’m creating a space to dig deeper into the knowledge, experiences, resources, and lessons I’ve gathered throughout my journey. From writing and editing to publishing, literacy, entrepreneurship, poetry, and professional development, my hub is a place where writers and creatives can discover resources that help them sharpen their craft, protect their voice, and continue creating work that matters. ✍🏾📚
