Deb Swift
About

I’m a connector, creator, coach, and thought-generator drawn to the places where spirituality, creativity, community, and cultural change intersect.
My vocational path has moved through public education, music, camp leadership, parish ministry, coaching, digital media, and organizational innovation — always with the same underlying question:
How do we create spaces where people can reconnect with meaning, belonging, and hope?
As an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), I spent decades guiding congregations through seasons of transition and transformation, helping communities reimagine spiritual life in rapidly changing times. Along the way, I developed the Acts of Faith Model, a decentralized and relational approach to community-based spiritual engagement, and authored a workbook for churches facing massive cultural and institutional change:   The Church Has Left the Building — A Case Study of One Church’s Story of Transformation, Redefinition, and New Life.
Today, I serve as the Founder and Executive Director of Firebird Spirit, a digital-first Community of Hope bringing together seekers, creatives, skeptics, and compassionate souls from across the country and around the world. Through worship gatherings, study, media, coaching, and collaborative projects, Firebird Spirit explores what it means to nurture spiritual connection beyond traditional religious borders.
I am also an ICF-trained coach, a member of ASCAP, and an active singer-songwriter-arranger whose work explores the intersection of spirituality, story, sound, and human transformation. In addition, I serve as Creative Coordinator for the Prince Street Forge Collective, LLC an evolving collaborative creative initiative supporting music, writing, media, and spiritually imaginative projects.
I continue to be fascinated by the evolving relationship between spirituality, technology, creativity, and human consciousness — and by the ways authentic community can still emerge in a fragmented age.
But beneath all the roles and projects, the center of my life remains simple:   family (both inherited and chosen), deep conversation, creative imagination, and an ongoing search for the sacred “All-ness” that binds us together in the Beloved Community.
