At Action for Older Persons, we provide unbiased information, personalized guidance, and advocacy to help older adults and their families make informed decisions about their health, finances, and long-term care.

Since 1967, we have supported individuals and families throughout New York's Southern Tier. Our services include free Medicare counseling, assistance applying for health insurance savings programs, advocacy for residents of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities, and help resolving problems with managed long-term care coverage.

We also provide education about advance care planning and coordinate professional responses to elder abuse and financial exploitation.

Through individual counseling, educational programs, and community partnerships, we help older adults understand their options, protect their rights, reduce unnecessary expenses, and maintain their independence and dignity.

We proudly serve communities across Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, and Tioga counties, with program eligibility and coverage varying by location.
