Maia (she/her) is a student, athlete, and current DeepDiig intern studying government (with a concentration in American law) and minoring in public policy at Smith College. She's also a part of a research lab at Smith focused on congressional oversight of the Trump administration under united Republican government. She is working on her Department of Government Honors Program thesis on the effect of median Court ideology on issue selection at the certiorari, or agenda-setting, stage. Maia has previously worked as a fellow with Matriculate, an organization that matches high-achieving low-income high schoolers with college students who mentor them throughout the college application process.
Maia currently lives in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Outside of her work, Maia is passionate about her club sports teams, ice hockey and ultimate frisbee. She loves hiking, backpacking, ice skating, and spending time outside.
